Vedic Numerology III: Composite Numbers

INTRODUCTION After we have understood about the planets influencing different single digit numbers, we can extend their meaning to understand the composite numbers. However, we must understand that the composite numbers are like Jyotish Yogas, whereby the natural nature of the single digits undergo substantial changes to indicate completely different aspects as compared to their natural nature. To understand this we must know how each planets are disposed towards each other and can be read from any standard Jyotish Book. It is not possible to explain the meaning of each and every number as they extend to infinity. However, I shall try here to give some principles, which would help understanding the composite numbers. PRINCIPLES Principle 1: Study the effect of the composite numbers as yoga of two or more planets. Principle 2: The unit digit (the digit in the right-hand most side) lead the whole number. The subsequent numbers takes the subsequent leadership position in tenth...

Dhana Yogas: Combinations For Wealth I

INTRODUCTION Maharishi Parashara in BPHS says that the Kendras are specifically the houses of happiness and the Trikonas are the houses of Wealth and Prosperity. This is because Kendras are ruled by Vishnu, the sustainer and Trikonas are governed by Lakshmi, the giver of prosperity. Thus, these houses shall appear prominently in the combinations of wealth. Along with it, 2nd house is the house of accumulated wealth and 11th house is the house of gains or income and thus, these houses are equally important in the matters of wealth.  12th signify the house of loss and its involvement in the combinations show loss of wealth. Lets see what different classics have to say in these matters of wealth: Bhavartha Ratnakara If the there’s a parivartana between either the 2nd and 5th lords or the 2nd and 11th lords, the native earns a lot. This is also true for the placement of the 5th and 9th lords in their own houses. Here the author talks of the association of the lord of wealth (accumulate...

Vedic numerology II: The meaning of Numbers

INTRODUCTION When we live in the world surrounded by illusions and we know that the behavior is based more on perceptions that the truth behind an event, we need to understand our perceptions whenever we are faced with different circumstances/ events. This is worthwhile to note that our behavior is interrelated with those of others in our surroundings. For example, if I am a king, this is because, others also perceive me as a king, along with my own perception about self. Thus, the results we get in this would be more dependent on the perception of people in our surrounding, than the real truth about our own self. Thus we shall study the perception which is generated under different conditions/ situations. Here we shall study the TRUTH pertaining to a no. and the PERCEPTION of that true self. Though the truth of the numbers are based on the Weekday order, the perception is different.   ONE TRUTH Number one represents the creative force, as this is the starting po...

Vedic Numerology I: The Concept

For understanding numerology, one needs to understand the true meaning of satya (truth) and arudha (illusion). The whole world runs on the basis of perception, common understanding (between members of a group) and personal understanding (of a person in a group). To explain this lets say, when you see red traffic light on a street, you would not like to cross road, being a padestrian. For that matter this would be the behaviour of almost everyone, because this forms the part of common understanding and everyone trains his/ her mind to behave in those "expected" ways. However, the personal understanding would depend on the learning/ experience of each member of the community, for example, some would be daring enough to cross red lights and someone else would be too careful. However, this is a minor variation of the common understanding. The third most important thing, which would influence the behavious would be what is your perception of the situation. Perceptions are nothing ...

Divisional Chart I: Trimsamsa

INTRODUCTION Trimsamsa chart is used to delineate various kinds of evils one is likely to face. The key signification of the divisional charts can be known by finding out the root of the divisional chart, by expunging the multiple of 12. Trimsamsa means 30th division and by expunging the multiple of 12, we arrive at 6 (30-12*2 ), which is the house of diseases, servants/ service, enemies and ltigation (troubles we face in this world due to external circumstances).  Different harmonics of divisional charts are concerned with different level of consciousness within which the effect it shown.   Physical- Primary (D-1 to D-12) Conscious- Secondary/ First harmonic (D-13 to D-24) Sub-Conscious- Tertiary/ Second harmonic (D-25 to D-36) Super- Conscious- Quaternary/ Third harmonic (D-37 to D-48) Supra- Conscious- Pentenary/ Fourth harmonic (D-49 to D-60) Beyond Material Consciousness- Beyond fourth harmonic (>D-60)   Trimsamsa or D-30 falls under the boundarie...

The Panchanga I

Panchanga is a sanskrit term, composed of Pancha and Anga which means five organs. This broadly mean the five organs of time. The importance of Panchange is borne out of the fact that the quality of time decides the fate of the events starting at that point of time. However, the question which arise here is, why the quality of the time is measured by only five organs and not anything else! To understand this we need to understand the underlying similarity among the different creation of this in this universe, either animate or in-animate. This underlying similarity makes us belive that the macrocosm and microcosm are similar, i.e., whatever happens in the whole universe can be witnessed in smaller things like our own self or the smallest thing like an atom. This concept has been verily conveyed by the sloka "Yat Pinde Tat Brahmande" from the shastras. To understand the underlying similarity among different members of the creation, we need to understand the creative forc...

Intelligence & Planets

Intelligence is governed by devaguru Jupiter, who is the karaka for Dhi or the supreme intelligence. There are many kind of intelligence, which is important for sustenance in this material world and with the same reasoning; animals are also intelligent, as they also know, how to keep themselves alive. However, the only difference, between an animal and human being is the presence of “Dhi”, or the intelligence for self-development and realization. Who else can govern, such intelligence than the devaguru himself! The strength of Jupiter lies with guiding the Mana (Moon) in the right direction. This is why in the Kalachakra, or the time cycle, Jupiter is placed opposite to the Moon. No, wonder, on Amavasyas and Purnimas, when the mind gets hyper exited; only Jupiter has the power to put rein on such Mind. Thus on full Moon nights, when the Moon (Mind) is highly activated, Satya-Narayan (Jupiter) vrata is done. This is pertinent to mention here is that the knowledge is always within ...
